Synthetic Organic Chemistry: Development of Novel Synthetic Methods using Transition Metal Complexes and Photo-redox Catalysis.

A] Visible Light Mediated Photo Catalysis for Organic Synthesis: Development of novel synthetic methods for functionalizing bioactive and medicinally important organic molecules via Carbon-Carbon and Carbon-Heteroatom bond formation reactions using visible light-induced photo-catalysis and transition metal catalysis.

B] C-H Activation: We intend to develop chemo- and regio-selective Transition Metal Complex catalyzed C-H bond activation reactions to create new C-C and C-Heteroatom bonds via Oxidative Coupling and Cross Dehydrogenative Coupling (CDC) reactions that meet most of the demands of an ideal synthesis and their further applications in novel molecule synthesis.

C] Electrochemical Synthesis: We are developing synthetic methods for synthesizing biologically active molecules using electrochemical reaction conditions.

D] Total Synthesis of Natural Products: The efficiency of any novel synthetic reaction is measured by its successful application in synthesizing structurally attractive and biologically important natural products. We have planned to lead our methodologies to make progress in achieving the development of efficient and reliable routes to construct biologically active natural products as well as exciting lead molecules for drug synthesis.

E] Green Chemistry: One of our aims is to develop a green reaction process for synthetic transformation.
